South Africa meets Ireland

On a recent holiday to Europe, Alwyn Badenhorst, who is a Customer Relationship Manager with Neutrog South Africa, took some time to visit the new factory of Neutrog Ireland, and meet Niall Reynolds, Managing Director. Alwyn has been working for Neutrog for the past 3 years, and worked for a Neutrog distributor before that. Niall was delighted to hear about how Neutrog has grown in South Africa, and was amazed to hear that over 20,000 tonnes were produced there last year. Niall said “It’s great to speak to Alwyn about the progress in South Africa, and to learn how this was achieved. It’s very exciting to think that we could achieve similar results here over the next few years, and extremely valuable to learn from the experiences in both South Africa and Australia”.

Alwyn commented on the similarities of the landscapes in Ireland and in the region in South Africa where he lives. He also said “I am very impressed with the new factory that Niall has set up here in Ireland, and I am extremely confident that Neutrog Ireland will be just as successful as our business in South Africa”.

Making progress

Hi,
Have been busy lately, and haven't had time to update the blog. I'm delighted to say that our organic fertilisers are now in 54 garden centres around the country, from Cork to Donegal. Also, we have trials ongoing with commercial growers. Our seaweed fertiliser Seamungus is being tried in potato farms and commercial vegetable plots. Rapid Raiser is being used on grassland, with some very promising results being reported.

On the Road again!

Hi,
I spent yesterday in Kilkenny, and Tipperary with Conor from our distributors. We had a good day, picking up 1 order, and meeting a few others who we would be confident will stock the products. While on the road I got a call from Martin at the factory to say the die on the pellet press had been dammaged. Luckily we have a spare which only came in this week, so it wont affect production.
Hopefully our sieve will arrive Monday, so that we can start manufacturing Bladerunner, our lawn product. We need to bag 6 pallets of this next week for an order, so I am looking forward to getting the sieve.

Talk soon,
Niall.

First delivery

At Last !!
Our first delivery was loaded yesterday and will be delivered today. It will go to our distributor in Dublin, and then on to retail garden centres around the country. It has taken a long time for this to happen, and it was great to see the first pallet lifted on to the lorry.

The West

I'm in Galway this morning in the west of Ireland to meet Aisling from Spraychem - our retail distributors. Today we are visiting 5 independent garden centres, to introduce Neutrog products. One of the owners Gerry McGaugh has his own radio gardening show, so hopefully he will be positive about the products.
We got a delivery of most of the buckets this week - they look great !

Got drier going today - dried about 10 tonne of manure to 20-22 % moisture.
Getting delivery of buckets tomorrow. Hope to dry seaweed mix also tomorrow and make some seamungus. Got call from foxrock garden club they want me to give talk to over 100 members next tuesday. A bit nervous about this but should be fine.
